CRATER LAKE, HOT SPRINGS & SUMMIT [ 4 DAYS 3 NIGHTS ]

The itinerary for this classic trek is similar to option #2 but it does not include 1 night accommodation. This option start from Senaru, ends in Sembalun Lawang. Highlights are: Mt. Rinjani’s summit (3,726 m), Segara Anak Lake (crater), Hot Springs and Caves. Fully organized (combination of adventure, leisure, eco tourism, safety).

Individual or group departures are available upon request. Rinjani Trek requires you to have a good level of fitness and ability to walk long distance. Person with mountain sickness or height phobia are not allowed to join this tour. We can customize any date based on request with minimum 2 persons in each group. There are two type of service to choose, Deluxe or Budget service.

Trek itinerary:

Day 1. SENGGIGI – SENARU VILLAGE – SENARU CRATER RIM


Pick up at 05.30 am in your hotel and transfer to the trek point at Senaru Village (601m) about 2 hours drive from Senggigi area. Register at Rinjani Trek Centre (RTC), meet your mountain Guide and porters. The trek started after soft briefing about trek condition, local cultural traditions, rubbish management and safety procedures. The first hours of the trek climb steeply through thick tropical forest rich in flora, bird life and variety of butterflies. Rest stops are taken along the way. Lunch served en route at Pos 2 Montong Satas shelter ( 1,500m ). After lunch continue walk up another 2 hours to pos 3 Mondokon Lolak (2,000m), take some rest here than on to another couple of hours through grassy meadows to Plawangan 1 Senaru/ Senaru crater rim at 2,641m, views across the lake Segara Anak (2,00m) to the summit of Mt. Rinjani. Within the crater is Mt. Baru ( 2,351m), an active volcano. On a clear evening the Gili Isles, Bali and Mt. Agung can be seen to the west. Reach the Crater rim around 4 or 5 pm, set up the tent and enjoy the views around.

Day 2. SENARU CRATER RIM – SEGARA ANAK LAKE


Leave the Crater rim of Senaru at 8am after breakfast down to the lake Segara Anak (2,000 m) within the Rinjani crater passing numerous Edelweiss plants (Bunga Abadi) along the trek to the crater’s lake. The trek route in this point is steep and rocky, your guide and porters will assist and give you extra attention. It takes two to three hours down the steep trail to the lake.
The rest of the day is spent relaxing, swimming in the lake and exploring the caves and pilgrimage hot springs, believed to have healing powers. Camp and overnight by the lake

Day 3. SEGARA ANAK LAKE – SEMBALUN CRATER RIM


After lunch leave the lake and climb for three hours up to Plawangan Sembalun.
The trek route in this point is also steep and rocky, your guide and porters will assist and give you extra attention. It takes two to three hours down the steep trail to the lake.
Rest and prepare yourself for an early morning three-hours hard climb to the summit (3,726 m). Dinner - Camp (Stay overnight) at Plawangan Sembalun.

Day 4. SEMBALUN CRATER RIM – RINJANI SUMMIT – SEMBALUN VILLAGE - SENGGIGI


Wake up early morning to start the trek at 03:00 AM for the hard three hours climb to the summit (3,726 m) on volcanic screen. Once there, enjoy proud feelings of satisfaction and the amazing sunrise views across the Wallace Line to Bali, Mt. Agung and Sumbawa. Stay at the summit 30 minutes to 1 hour to enjoy the views around and than going down to the campsite Sembalun crater rim through same route.
Rest and breakfast at the campsite, after a well prepared breakfast, with the gentle descent walking to Sembalun Village passing Pos 3 Pada Balong (1,800 m), Pos 2 Tengengean (1,500 m) and Pos 1 Pemantauan (1,300). Lunch served en route.
After about 6 – 7 hours trek down from Sembalun Crater rim, the trek ends at Rinjani Information Center at the road head in Sembalun Lawang, where the car is waiting to transfer you to the airport or Senggigi. End of program
